How it works

Why This Works - When Willpower and Apps Haven't

You already have the drive. You already know what needs to happen - the proposal, the follow-up, the delivery you keep pushing to "later today." That was never the problem.

Do people with ADHD have accountability issues? Yes - but not because of a lack of effort or character. ADHD directly affects the brain's executive function: the system that regulates task initiation, follow-through, and self-monitoring. For self-employed people, this means the very skills required to run a business independently are the ones ADHD specifically disrupts. External accountability is not a workaround - it is the evidence-based solution.

Strong intentions and sheer willpower were never going to be enough on their own. That's not a character flaw - it's just not how ADHD works.

You don't need more effort. You need structure. And structure isn't something you can build alone in a notes app at 11pm - it has to come from outside your own head.

That's also why the apps and productivity systems haven't stuck. A reminder doesn't know you swiped it away instead of doing the thing. A checklist doesn't notice you've rewritten the same task five times without starting it. Software can be snoozed, closed, or deleted with zero cost - there's no one on the other end to notice, or to ask you about it tomorrow.

I'm that person. I notice when you go quiet. I follow up. I know the difference between "I'm stuck" and "I'm avoiding this because it's actually the wrong next step" - and I adjust the plan accordingly, week to week, based on how your business and your brain are actually behaving. Not what a generic app assumes everyone needs.

I work with self-employed professionals, freelancers, and small business owners across the UK, Ireland, and the USA (East Coast) - as well as Eastern Canada.

The structure

What working with me looks like

1.

Weekly Priority Sessions

Every week we get clear on the two or three things that actually matter for your business right now. No over-planning, no endless to-do lists - just a focused starting point you can act on immediately.

2.

Regular Accountability Check-ins

Short, structured, low-friction - with an actual person, not a notification you can dismiss. You stay on track without burning mental energy trying to manage your own accountability system.

3.

Real-Time Unsticking

Stuck on a proposal? Can't start that client delivery? I help you break through task paralysis before hours become days - and days become lost revenue. That's the part no app can do: read the situation and help you move, in the moment.

Common questions

FAQ

Is this therapy or clinical support?

No. This is accountability partnership focused on business execution. I don't provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical ADHD support. If you need that, I'm happy to point you toward the right resources.

Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis?

No. Many of my clients are self-identified. If the patterns sound familiar - and they're affecting your business - that's enough to have a conversation.

I'm a freelancer or sole trader, not a "business owner." Is this for me?

Absolutely. If you're self-employed and your income depends on your output, this was built for you.

How is this different from a regular productivity coach?

Most coaches give you systems and frameworks that require consistent focus and habit-building - the exact things ADHD disrupts. Everything I do is built around how your brain actually operates, not how it's supposed to.

What time zones do you work in?

I work with clients in the UK, Ireland, the USA (East Coast), and Eastern Canada. For US and Eastern Canada clients, the best call window is typically 8:00am (or earlier) through 11:00am EST. UK and Ireland sessions are scheduled flexibly around your working day.

What does it cost?

I work on monthly retainer packages rather than one-off sessions or hourly billing - consistent accountability is what actually moves the needle, and a retainer reflects that. The right package depends on how much support and check-in frequency makes sense for where your business is right now. We'll talk specifics after your Execution Audit.

Do people with ADHD have accountability issues?

Yes - and it is not a character flaw. ADHD affects executive function: the brain system that controls task initiation, prioritisation, and follow-through. For self-employed people and freelancers, this creates a specific and costly problem - there is no external structure, manager, or team to compensate. The result is not laziness or lack of ambition; it is a structural mismatch between how the ADHD brain operates and what running a business alone demands. External accountability directly addresses this mismatch.

What is an accountability partner for someone with ADHD?

An ADHD accountability partner is a person - not an app or a system - who provides the external structure that the ADHD brain cannot reliably generate on its own. For business owners and freelancers, this means regular check-ins to identify priorities, follow-up when things go quiet, and real-time support when task paralysis sets in. Unlike a coach or therapist, an accountability partner is focused entirely on what gets done in your business: proposals sent, clients followed up, revenue-generating work completed. The key difference from productivity tools is that a person notices when you go quiet. Software does not.

Why don't productivity apps work for ADHD entrepreneurs?

Productivity apps assume you can consistently engage with a system - which is exactly what ADHD makes difficult. A notification can be swiped away. A checklist can be ignored. A task can be rewritten five times without being started. Apps carry zero social consequence for non-completion. An accountability partner does: they follow up, they notice patterns, and they adjust the approach based on what is actually happening in your business - not what the app assumes you need.
